This large and luxurious contemporary home was designed on the site of a much earlier 18th Century country mansion known as Greenside. Sitting on an elevated rural site the commission provided a unique opportunity to design a large new home built in the countryside overlooking the farmland of east fife , the firth of forth and across to the Lothians beyond.
The scheme was conceived as a contemporary arts and crafts home. The design incorporated traditional materials; using a palette of sandstone, clay tiles and timber. Large overhanging eaves and a horizontal emphasis helped create a building which belongs to the landscape and merges with the countryside.
Internally the accommodation is built to the highest standards and provides generous and spacious accommodation with extraordinary views and a tangible sense of quality.
