Located in a pivotal position with spectacular views, the University Court project involved the construction of two extensions to the central administration ‘Cottrell’ Building. These comprised a new court room and principal’s office suite and allowed the creation of a bright and vibrant new public entrance to the campus by using simple, modern materials.
The Faculty of Midwifery project provided training facilities for lecturers and nurses. This has been sensitively linked to existing accommodation, which has also been re-planned and upgraded. Driving issues behind this development were the need for continued use of the existing buildings during the course of the contract, the overall programme and cost factors, together with the generation of an appropriate architectural response to both the existing built fabric and the landscape.
